Consultation services are available for organizations interested in creating a more adoption-friendly or trauma-informed environment for the people they serve:
Churches and other communities of faith that have, or want to develop, foster care and adoption ministries, or simply want to be more responsive to the needs of foster and adoptive families;
Educational personnel grappling with a student population experiencing more acute or chronic trauma, wanting to create learning environments that are trauma-informed.
Attorneys, police departments, and judicial systems seeking a deeper understanding of how trauma affects their communities as well as themselves, with an interest in making environmental or systemic changes that promote better outcomes, lower stress and rates of burnout, and improved community relations.
Hospitals and other health-care providers wanting objective information on protecting the rights and responsibilities of all parties involved in adoption.
Contact Arbor Cove Therapy to discuss your organization's consultation needs.

Where I'm Speaking Next
As we head into the final weeks of the summer of 2018, I'm excited to have been asked to speak to foster and adoptive families by two amazing Atlanta-area organizations.
August 18th: I'll be speaking at Birds on a Wire's SOAR conference at North Point Community Church in Alpharetta, Georgia. Birds on a Wire provides teaching and encouragement to moms of all walks of life through groups, podcasts, and the annual SOAR conference. SOAR gives moms an opportunity to gather together and be uplifted and equipped in their parenting journey. This year, they've asked me to provide a breakout session speaking to some of the big questions and challenges foster and adoptive moms face, and I'm thrilled to do it! You can register by visiting the website for Birds on a Wire: http://birdsonawiremoms.com/soar2018/.
December 9th: Fostering Grace in Snellville, GA, has invited me to come speak to foster families on how to help children already in the home adjust when new siblings join by foster care or adoption. The class is open to families fostering through any public or private Georgia agency. To learn more, visit the website for Fostering Grace: http://gfc.tv/snellville/next-generation/fostering-grace/.
I hope to see you at one of these upcoming events!
