Groups Currently Forming:

Trust-Based Relational Intervention ® (TBRI®) Caregiver Training
TBRI® (Trust-Based Relational Intervention ®) is a caregiver program developed by the Karen Purvis Institute of Child Development at Texas Christian University that presents a way of parenting children who have experienced various traumas early in life using an approach that focuses first and foremost on nurturing a connected relationship while providing the structure needed to communicate safety. It stresses understanding and responding to the need underlying a child's sometimes challenging behavior, while also encouraging caregivers to examine how their own early experiences inform the ways they show up in their children's lives. It is a practical, hope-filled reorientation to parenting.

Susan Richardson, LPC, NCC, is currently forming a group to spend seven weeks together going through the TBRI Caregiver Training curriculum. Participants will come away from the group with an understanding of  TBRI empowering principles, focused on building children up by proactively meeting needs, connecting principles that strengthen parent-child attachment, and correcting principles that disarm and replace fear-based behaviors with strategies for increasing children's capacity to do well when they can with parent support. The flyer below can be downloaded and distributed to caregivers interested in signing up.

Meeting Dates: Currently forming for 2021. Group will meet weekly on Thursdays via telemental health from 8:00 - 9:30 pm.
