"Putting the Pieces Together" - This group for adolescent young women (ages 13-17) who are adopted began on Tuesday, January 30th, 2018, and will continue monthly through June 2018. The current group is closed to new members, but will run again later in 2018; check back under "Groups Forming Now" below for updated information. Triad Group - Suzanne Clark, LPC, and I are currently co-facilitating a monthly group for adults who are adoptive parents, biological parents of an adopted person, or individuals who are adopted. The group exists to provide a supportive environment in which all members can share their life experiences, and learn from each other's perspectives. The group meets on the fourth Sunday of each month from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. in Roswell, Georgia. For more information and to register, visit the page for Roswell Adoption Support Meetup on Meetup.com.
Groups Forming Now: All groups listed below will meet at Arbor Cove Therapy and will be capped at six members to ensure everyone has an opportunity to give and receive support. Interested individuals can register by calling the office at 404.394.1096 to schedule a time to meet and explore whether the group setting will be adequate to meet needs. Each group is $50/month. Call 404.394.1096 for more information about any of the groups.
"Putting the Pieces Together" - A new group will begin meeting later in 2018, either in the late summer or fall, depending on interest level. The group will meet monthly on Tuesdays, from 6:30 - 8:00 pm, for six months, and is open to adolescent young women (ages 13-17) who are adopted. The group’s goals are to (1) provide an emotionally safe environment where questions and issues related to adoption and identity can be explored, and (2) facilitate the development of supportive and encouraging relationships with other young women who understand the sometimes confusing or complicated feelings involved in adoption. Each month’s meeting will focus on exploring a different theme, as well as art-based activities that reinforce that month’s topic and build relationship.
