Susan P. Richardson, MS, LPC, NCC

Associate of Arbor Cove Therapy, LLC / Owner of Susan P. Richardson, LLC

Background

Susan is dedicated to promoting well-being, resilience, and growth for children, adolescents, adults, and families. She draws on both attachment theory and neurobiological principles to shape her therapeutic approach, carefully tailoring it to fit each client’s individual needs and life experiences.

Before joining Arbor Cove Therapy, Susan provided counseling services at Mercer University, Kennesaw State University, and Georgia Tech Counseling Centers, and gained experience working within the child welfare system. She remains passionate about helping teens and young adults pursue personal growth and fulfillment.

Susan guides clients to uncover and understand the underlying causes of their anxiety and depression, while helping them feel more secure and connected in their relationships. She works collaboratively with families, supporting parents in rediscovering joy, connection, and compassion in their parenting journey. For nearly two decades, Susan has supported adoptive families and all members of the adoption constellation, giving her a deep insight into the unique challenges faced by both parents and children. Diversity plays a central role in Susan’s work, whether she is supporting transcultural adoptive families or addressing the impact of stress, anxiety, and the universal need for belonging and connection within the larger community. Susan is committed to truly listening, affirming, and empowering her clients throughout their healing process.
